Safety Shutoff operation:
Types of safety shutoffs: IC Pump Station provides one (1) global low pressure safety shutoff level and one high pressure safey shutoff.
LOW PRESSURE SAFETY SHUTOFF: System pressure must be maintained above the "low pressure safe" level for at least 30 seconds (default) continuously or IC Pump Station will shut off and stay off. The display will will say: LOSAFE SHUTDOWN. IC Pump Station will stay off until manually reset by turning the unit off (pressing the Auto/OFF button) and turning it back on again (pressing Auto/OFF again). Low pressure safety shutoffs can be disabled entirely by setting the "low pres safe" level to zero (00). The safety shutoff delay can be adjusted if the (default) 30 second time "cuts in" too fast or too slowly.
HIGH PRESSURE SAFETY SHUTOFF: If the system pressure goes above this level for 3 seconds or more continuously IC Pump Station will shut off and stay off until manually reset as detailed above. The display will say: HISAFE SHUTDOWN. If the HI PRES SAFE level is out of the pressure sensor range (example: HI PRES SAFE says 250 when the range is 0-100) then the HI PRES SAFE is not implemented. The HI PRES SAFE can be set anywhere above the "LOW PRES SAFE" level to create a condition where the pump shuts off and stays off anytime the pressure exceeds a pre-set level.
Safety shutoff alarm relay output: As an option IC Pump Station offers a relay output that will turn on (close contacts) whenever the pump goes into safety shutoff. This relay can be connected to a warning light, horn or buzzer or can be connected to an auto-dialer that can alert maintenance personnel of a pump problem.
